  ARGA-ARAGÓN RIVERBED
The town of Villafranca is located at the confluence of the Arga River and the Aragon River, which, according to the saying, along with the Ega River, hacen el Ebro varón. The riverbed is thick with poplars, ash trees and weeping willows; it is a great place to observe and listen to birds like the royal heron, mallard ducks, cormorants, etc.

There is a hiking trail with an eight kilometer itinerary, as indicated in the map. The trail begins at the northeast end of town from a small recreation area. It starts with a wide path between irrigation plots and leads to poplar groves along the Aragon River . The trail follows the river to the confluence with the Arga River among marshland and poplars, then to higher land and back to the town via the same initial trail.
